Earth Bolt Installation
Save time and money
Earthbolts are a hire item, with the hire including installation, 60 days on site and removal.
Our experienced staff are specifically trained to install and remove Earthbolts using excavators and skidsteers equipped with planetary drives.
Depending on ground conditions, our team are able to install Earthbolts for 50 precast concrete panels in a day. M20 bolts are installed in the Earthbolt top plate ready for the props to be attached.
All staff are trained in our H&S procedures, and to construction industry health and safety standards.
Structural Integrity
The Panel Prop site specific Engineering Design calculates the potential maximum load (propping force) on each Prop.
The torque required to install each Earthbolt is monitored, ensuring every Earthbolt can withstand the potential maximum load (propping force) which will be placed on it.
With our knowledge of ground conditions, we generally know where Earthbolts are suitable, and where difficulties may be encountered. In difficult areas we make every effort to ensure installation, with site testing or pre-drilling pilot holes with a mining specification auger.
We will advise you, if we believe Earthbolts are not suitable for your site.
Ease of use with 100% safety record
First designed in 2007, Earthbolts have been successfully installed in Australia, more than 220,000 times since, with a 100% safety record.
Designed in accordance with AS4100 Steel Structures, AS2159 Piling Design and Installation, and meeting certification with AS/NZS 1163 using 350MPA Grade steel, Earthbolts have a WLL of 51kN at 60 degrees.
The top plate was designed with regard to the NZ Worksafe “Safe work with Precast Concrete” Guideline. With only two prop fixing points in the top plate, each Earthbolt meets the guidelines’ recommendation that the prop angle is within the +/- 5 degrees to the perpendicular.
A large lateral stabilizer plate is mounted under the top plate. This stabilizer plate engages a large passive soil wedge resisting lateral movement and moment loading. The lateral stabilizer plate is connected via a failsafe collar, ruling out the possibility of any catastrophic event if structural failure occurred.
